Adventures in Parramatta: Harvest Festival

So, about a month ago (OK - more than a month ago) Harvest Festival visited Parramatta. As soon as we saw the line up, and the fact that the location was practically in our backyard, a few of us from work  jumped online and snapped up a few tickets.

The night before poured rain, so with wet weather gear in tow, we headed to the beautiful Parramatta Park for a day of great music.

The park was well set out. The stages were perfectly separated - too many a festival has stages too close to each other, drowning out one acts sound. (hello FutureMusic and Ke$ha v Tame Impala). The lines to everything were short and quick - and I mean everything: toilets and the bar.

We all had an amazing time and depending on the line up - will probably be back next year, as long as it is at Parramatta Park again.

Here are my pics from the day:
there were music lyrics dotted around the place......
the weather held off whilst Dexy's whipped the Windmill Stage crowd up into a frenzy with Come on Eileen
Cloudy, but no rain
Finally...............I get to see the Dandy Warhols.
And wished I'd seen them 10 years earlier. Good, but not great.
back to the Windmill stage for......
Silversun Pickups......they were really good.
crowd
it's not Faith No More, but Mike Patton has an amazing voice..........
cruised down to the other, smaller stages for a look see.
back to the Great Lawn for Cake.
Festivals = Chucks to me

Windmill Stage again - for Ben Folds Five
A M A Z I N G....

BECK
The Secret Garden at night, with DJs
more crowd activity
we didn't stick around for Sigur Ros, but their stage presence was pretty special...
Santigold........the highlight of the day.
Her stage show, costume changes, crowd participation and dancers were all fantastic.
and so the night ends.........
I wandered back to my car, past the historic Old Government House
, past November Jacarandas and
the Parramatta CBD.
