Saturday (& Sunday) Thrifting

At the moment, my life is a never ending merry-go-round of open house inspections, checking real estate websites, more open house inspections etc etc. Buying a house is hard and at times frustrating and boring. But between lining up with everyone else that is in the same price range as you to look at a tiny piece of Australia, I have been able to fit in thrifting at some of favourite spots in Western Sydney.

Plenty of crockery but nothing for me.
St Vincent de Paul.......watching over the Saturday thrifters.
Loved the colour of these but no need for dining chairs yet...
Loved this print and frame.......hopefully its still there next time?
My only purchase of the day. We have them at home and a family favourite. I now have one to call my own.

On Sunday, we jumped in car (very early for a Sunday morning) and headed up the F3 to Avoca on the NSW Central Coast for the Avoca Beachside Markets. Parking is at a premium, so getting there early when the stalls are just opening was a great idea. Although the weather was not the best (had to jump under the cover of a stall during a short shower) it was a great little market, with a great mix of fresh produce, gourmet food, crafts, clothing etc etc
4th Sunday of the Month - Heazlett Park Foreshore, Avoca Beach
Adorable table and chairs from old milk crates, hessian bags, old tea towels.

The markets were separated into different areas, dependent on what stalls were there. Here are a few of the cute signs and decorations, littered throughout the site.
There was a thrifting stall at the markets and they had some great finds, for not a lot of dollars.
Tin tea caddy $2
This may be perfect teapot to go with my owl tea cosy. This "Brown Betty" was also $2.
2 x Johnson Australia dinner plates gifted from my dear friend Cass who bought them for 20c each at Morpeth... Thanks Cass.

Another great weekend, spent thrifting. Just wish I could find my "dream for now" home so I can concentrate on the thrifting and less on the home buying...
